Here are some steps to tackle your partner in a bout of bad mood.
Sense his/her mood
Most of the fights take place because you cannot sense your partner's mood. If you are perceptive, you will able to read your partner's body language and act appropriately. If he or she is uncharacteristically quiet or looks tensed, he or she may be under some stress.
Don't pester him/her for the reason
You have the right to know why your partner is in a bad mood. But don't exercise your right immediately. If you pester your partner to know why he or she is foul tempered, it will only irritate them further.
Silence works best
Be silent as it has a calming effect on an irritated person. You will see that after a few hours of silence, you partner will automatically tell you why he or she was in a bad mood.
Keep ego aside
Many couples have fights because they cannot keep their egos aside. When one of you is having a mood swing, the other has to understand. If you get your ego into this, you are heading for a big fight.
Try to be cheerful but don't be too forceful
If your partner is still in a bad mood after a couple of hours, then you could make an attempt to cheer him/her up. Try making plans for a movie or dinner but do not force your partner to go along. If you are too persuasive, it might have the opposite effect.
A bit of intimacy works
Intimacy doesn't always stand for love making. Even taking his head in your lap or holding her close to you could be an intimate gesture that changes your partner's mood.
Try these tips to deal with you angry boyfriend or girlfriend.
