Ways To Maintain Balance In Relationships
Balance is the most important ingredient of your life. Whether it is you education, career or your relationships, balance is the one thing that can make it work. You need to find your inner balance to be successful as an individual. But in a relationship, balance can come when both partners contribute. It takes two to tango and thus, you must work towards finding your balance and being a compatible couple.
Do you believe that couples are compatible by chance? Don't buy into this misnomer. Just like balance, compatibility is something that a couple needs to work at. Ever heard of the phrase opposites attract? When it comes to a relationship, it proves to be a universal truth. Opposite characters attract each other. So you have the yin and the yang together. All you have to do is find a balance in your relationship between the two extreme points.
So far, you might be under the impression that balance in relationships is a vague or philosophical concept. Well it is not. The virtue of balance has to be worked out in your mundane activities as a couple. You need to main a balance of power, money and skill sets to be successful in your relationships.
Here are some ways to maintain balance in your relationships and become a compatible couple.

Power Balance
Every relationship must have a balance of power. One person is bound to be the leader and the other to be a follower. What you can do is separate your realms of power. For example, if your partner is good with money, don't question him/her about monetary matters.

Financial Balance
We longer have relationships in which one partner is the provider and the other the nurturer. But one partner has to take responsibility of the majority of the finances while the other provides backup support.

Different Skill Sets
It is always good for a couple to have different skill sets. Suppose you are an excellent cook, it is alright if your partner can't cook. Ideally, your partner should be great at cleaning.

Stay Away From Gender Stereotypes
Gender stereotypes should not disturb the balance in your relationship. Just because women are not traditionally known to support the family, doesn't mean you can't. Make your own rules and break gender myths.

Career Compatibility
You both should have careers that are compatible. It does not mean you both have to have the same profession. In fact it is quite the opposite. Suppose you are a very busy corporate honcho, then the most suitable profession for your partner is a creative one.

The Decision Maker
There has to be one of you who will the decision maker. It does not mean that one person gets to decide everything. Divide your areas of expertise and then it will be easy for you to choose decision maker for every aspect of life.

Work As Team
The two of you together must always work as a team. Play to your partners strengths and try to cover up his/her weaknesses. In this way, you will be unbeatable as a couple. It is like playing a game of tennis. If your partner has weak service, you take over that part and allow your partner to play the smash shots.

Ego Is A Foolish Enemy
Never allow ego to creep in and destroy the balance in your relationship. As far as the two of you are concerned, there is no question of winning and losing. So, ego is just a vague thing.

Have Common Goals
You have to set and work towards common goals as a couple. It should not be that you are saving up to buy a house and your partner is taking loans to buy a car.
