Tips To Help A Depressed Boyfriend
In our madly busy lives, we all often tend to get sad or depressed about certain things. The reasons are hard to ascertain. Sometimes there are some solid reasons like a love failure or stress at work or family issues. While sometimes we tend to get sad without a specific reason. We just get frustrated with the way things are taking shape around us.
There are also times when the same feelings are affecting someone else who is really close to us. It may be your mom, dad, sibling or even your partner. You may not have noticed it but suddenly your boyfriend will seem to be distanced from you. This can be a really sad state of affair. He will not speak his mind to you, he wont go out or have fun like before. Now, these signs need not necessarily mean that he is trying to ignore you or break up with you. These signs can also have far reaching cause like depression.
Your partner's depression can be a great setback to your relationship. His irritable mood, unpredictable mood swings and even his sudden outbursts can make you frustrated too. But if you are seeking a long term relationship with him, then you have to make efforts to get him out of the state. Here are a few tips to deal with your boyfriend's depression and to help him out.

Find Out The Cause
If you are sure that he is going through a phase of depression, then first thing you should do is to find the cause. He might be facing some issues with his career or might be fed up with things in his life. Whatever it is, find out the source of his depression. This will help you to find out the remedy.

Be His Shoulder To Cry On
The male ego is very difficult to break. Your guy will keep up the strong face even if he is completely broken down inside. Even if he wants to cry he still wont. So, tell him that you are there to be his shoulder to cry on. Forget that you are his girlfriend for a while. Be his best friend whom he can blindly trust and open up to.

Be Calm
If he is depressed, then he will surely be preoccupied with the depressive thoughts. He wont be able to focus on anything apart from his thoughts. Needless to say that the thoughts will be accompanied with sudden outbursts of anger. At this point, you need to be extremely patient. If he shouts at you, keep calm. Do not answer back at any point.

Do Not Preach
The last thing he needs at this point is your preaching. You are not going through what he is. So, there is no point in giving suggestions or preaching. This will only make him more mad. So, if you have nothing else to say then just hold his hand and listen to him calmly. That is the only way you can make him feel better.

Your Love Is The Medicine
Tell him how much you love him. He may get irritated on hearing that. But somewhere inside he is longing to hear that from you. A depressed person seeks only love and care. So, tell him that you love him in spite of every little ups and downs in your love life.

Don't Expect Attention
At this point he is obssessed with himself. So, let him be. Don't demand his attention. His mind may be burdened with a whole lot of issues. So, seeking his attention at this time will be absurd. Be patient and let time do its job.

Keep A Check
Do not leave him alone for long. He may start thinking that even you have stopped caring. So, if you are away from him then call or text him often. Ask him casually about what he is doing or talk about a good movie or a book you have recently come across. All of this will make him feel great.
