10 Unhealthy Relationship Signs: Watch Out
As they say, man is a social animal. The term ‘social' essentially connotes a thick mesh of relationships among individuals. We all love to relate to someone or the other as it gives a meaning to our existence. When two individuals enter into a relationship, their life does not remain the same. Getting into a relationship involves sharing. In fact sharing is the foundation of any relationship. In a healthy relationship, the partners choose to share their personal space and time. They develop a bond and fondness for each other.
The essence of a healthy relationship is planning as a single unit on all important issues like home, career, health, finances, children, etc. Keeping a relationship always fresh requires a constant effort from both the partners.
A healthy relationship is a commitment for life. Half measures either do not work or work in most negative ways. When a relationship begins to sour, it often gives out signals, distinct or subtle. It is wise to sense these tell-tale signs and make appropriate decisions for a better life. Signs of an unhealthy relationship are given below:

Over-dependence on one another
Individuals in a relationship depend on each other for their needs. Things get ugly when either or both find themselves immobilised in absence of other partner. Over dependence becomes a burden to bear. One stops doing his or her things
and expects the other to do the favour.

Individuals not actually in love
It is one of the unhealthy relationship signs. Sometimes individuals in a relationship do not actually love each other. They either lack fondness for each other or feel uncomfortable being together for any reason. It is very likely that they choose to stay with each other for reasons like security, fear of loneliness or financial needs, rather than genuine love for each other.

Infidelity
When an individual has amorous feelings for someone, the consequences can be disastrous. It is one of the unhealthy relationship signs. Having a person other than the partner on mind often makes relationship a bundle of white lies, indifference, hurts feelings and blame games. Eventually it dies a painful death.

Mutual disrespect and its public display
When the individuals develop disrespect for each other, things start falling apart. Worst happens when they start rebuking each other in public. It is one of the unhealthy relationship signs. They ignore the fact that they are equals and deserve to be treated so, both at home and outside. Kidding with each other is one thing, but actually berating or scolding the partner in public is a clear sign of a decaying relationship.

Berating the partner for physical appearance
How we look is not much in our hands. When we relate to someone, we need to accept his or her appearance without a grudge. Any negative judgment on the physical appearance indicates a resentment which is never healthy.

Need to control the other
It is one of the unhealthy relationship signs. When a partner develops an insatiable urge to control the other, the relationship heads for a doom.

Excessive focus on partner
An undue focus on partner can be fatal. An individual starts dropping friends, and activities he or she once enjoyed.

No Joint decisions
When a relationship has one participant making all major decisions, making one superior to other. Its results are always disastrous.

Trying to change oneself or other partner
When an individual is predominantly occupied with changing oneself or other partner, the basic principle of unconditional love is undermined.

Abuse
When one partner yells, hits, or throws things at the other during arguments, life becomes a living hell. Abuse can be emotional, physical, sexual or psychological and is most detrimental to a relationship.
