Wearing Heels During Pregnancy: Safe Or Not?
You might have seen a lot of women who wear high heels during pregnancy. But is it safe for the growing foetus if the mother wears high heels while she is pregnant? Over the past few months you would have seen the sensational British royalty Kate Middleton and the hawte Kim Kardashian wear high heels during their pregnancy who managed to make it look very easy!
According to experts, they say that there is no medical reason which prevents pregnant women from wearing high heels, but as time progresses during the pregnancy term, walking in heels becomes uncomfortable. It becomes especially uncomfortable for the pregnant woman during the second and third trimester of pregnancy. To some women, they find it a no biggie to wear high heel during early pregnancy since you will not feel any swelling or heaviness in your feet at this time around.
DID YOU KNOW: Risky Activities To Avoid When Pregnant
When you go into your second trimester in pregnancy, a pregnant woman's body increases the production of the hormone called relaxin. This hormone loosens the ligaments so your baby can pass through your pelvis more easily, and when you wear high heels during this time of the pregnancy, you will experience acute back pain.

Here are some of the effects of wearing heels during pregnancy:
It is said that during pregnancy when you wear high heels the muscles in your calf begin to tighten, which then leads to painful leg cramps.
Another problem of wearing high heels during pregnancy is that it leads to your bottom sticking out post delivery. The bones in the hip are pushed upwards due to the weight of the baby in the womb. Over constant wearing of heels, your legs tend to push your body upwards thus making your bottom bulge out post delivery.
It also affects the posture of the pregnant woman, thus this is one of the main effects of wearing heels during pregnancy. It is said the pelvis gets tipped forward and this enhances the curve in the lower back affecting the posture making it uncomfortable for the pregnant woman to walk.
These are some of the effects of wearing heels during pregnancy. To avoid these problems, it is safer for pregnant women to completely avoid high heel shoes during the full term of pregnancy.
