How To Prevent Constipation In Kids, Naturally?
As parents, especially parents of a young child, we face a lot of challenges while raising them.
With young kids, every day becomes a new learning experience. Parenting is no simple feat and one has to learn certain techniques gradually.
Many a times, new parents tend to worry a lot when their child is experiencing an ailment, as they are filled with anxiety and confusion.
There are certain common and minor ailments that many children experience; and constipation is one of them.
Constipation is a condition in which the bowel movements of a person are irregular, leading to hardening of the stools and difficulty in passing stools.
If one does not treat constipation at the right time, it can lead to major health complications like piles and fistula.
Constipation is seen often in kids, as they may not know what to do when they get the urge to pass stools, so controlling that urge can lead to hardening of the stools.
Also, many a times, young children are given diets that are low in fibre content, which may be yet another reason for constipation.
So, have a look at some of the natural ways to prevent or reduce constipation in kids, here.

1. Water
Firstly, it is very important to ensure that your child consumes enough water, at least a litre in a day, to prevent constipation and for the general well-being.

2. Banana
Give your child one or two bananas to eat. You can mash them up, if your kid's teeth haven't developed completely. Bananas are rich in fibre content and can reduce constipation.

3. Apple
You can boil an apple and feed your kid the mashed pulp, as apples are rich in antioxidants and fibre that help relieve constipation.

4. Olive Oil
If your child has severe constipation, you can feed your kid a spoon of olive oil, this will lubricate the colon and soften the stools, thus reducing the condition of constipation.

5. Aloe Vera
By mixing a tablespoon of aloe vera juice to some warm water and feeding it to your child, you can help reduce your child's constipation issue, as aloe vera is rich in fibre content.

6. Curd
Ensure that you make curd a part of your child's diet to prevent constipation, as curd has the ability to boost the healthy bacteria in the colon, thereby regulating an easy bowel movement.

7. Orange Juice
You can give your child some orange juice, as orange juice is rich in vitamin C and water content, so it can keep constipation at bay and also boost your child's immunity.
