Does Cortisol Increase Aggression In Kids?
A new study claims that the reason behind aggression in kids could be cortisol which is a stress hormone. This study further says that kids below the age 10 who experience higher cortisol levels tend to show higher levels of aggression.

And this is true mainly for boys. This study also tried to focus on studying the link between aggression levels and hormones in both boys and girls.

As a part of the study, researchers studied the effects of all types of hormones in more than 90 children out of which half were boys and the rest were girls. The effects of cortisol on aggression were seen mainly in boys, that too in the age group of 8 to 10 years.

This study also says that increased aggression in kids between the age of 8 to 10 years is linked to increase of cortisol and decreased aggression in them is due to increase of estradiol hormone.

Putting aside the hormonal facts, if parents could carefully organise the life of their kids to ensure that there is minimal stress, it could help the kid both physically and mentally. When stress is minimised, it first helps mental health of the kid and also the physical health later.
