Does Childhood Obesity Cause Liver Disease?
A new study claims that obesity during childhood and teenage years could raise the risk of liver diseases after middle age in men.

Researchers conducted a study in which they have followed up the test subjects for a span of 4 decades to come to this conclusion. More than 45 thousand people were part of the study.

Males whose BMI was more than 25 are said to have 65% higher risk compared to others when it comes to developing liver diseases after a particular age.

For every slight increase in the BMI, the risk keeps increasing say researchers. The reason behind this risk could be prolonged exposure to obesity. And when a person is obese since childhood, the period of obesity tends to be longer.

Obesity could lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Researchers say that the risk starts from childhood obesity and that is why there is a need to curb the problem since childhood by taking the right measures.

When children are young, educating them about healthy eating habits and exercises is very important and that might help them even when they grow up.
