How do bad habits of parents affect kids? Most of us live recklessly and we love to live our lives like that. But seldom do we realise that the next generation might try to copy those habits from us. Every parent must be aware of certain consequences of their actions. Every habit of yours will have some or the other kind of effect on your kid. Sometimes, the effect can be physical and sometimes the effect can be psychological.

Smoking
We all know the fact that smoking kills. But those of us who are smokers, never quit smoking due to certain reasons. But can you imagine your child picking up this habit after growing up? If you smoke in front of your kids or if your child somehow knows that you are a chain smoker in the office, he might try to imitate you. Smoking is one of those bad habits of parents that affect kids.
Drinking
If you have a habit of drinking a peg every evening after work, try to do that silently in your bed room when your kids are not around. If possible, try to drink in a bar. Or else, gradually try to quit drinking completely if you love your kids. This is one of the annoying habits of parents. A recent study has suggested that children who observe their parents will gradually try to repeat their actions in some or the other way. Ensure that your kids never fall in the trap of alcohol after they grow up.

Binge eating
Do you know how parents affect child development? Binge eating is the root cause of obesity. You want a healthy body and you want the same for your kids. But if you set a bad example, your kids will never try to embrace healthy life. If you keep munching something all the time, your kids will do the same. Eating something tasty is a pleasure. If you cannot get through the addiction, how will your kids manage to curb their tongues?
Popping too many pills
When you get a headache, you quickly pop in a pill. When you fail to get sleep on time, you pop in a pill. When you experience mild body pains, you tend to throw in a pill. If your kid observes all these actions, he too might ask for a pill for every little inconvenience. Actually, it is not good to consume tablets very often, that too without consulting a doctor. Only if the doctor prescribes you a medicine, it is good to consume one. For minor disturbances of health, it is good to allow your body to take action. If it fails, then you can go to the doctor without popping in a pill. Ensure that such habits are not duplicated by your kids.
