Here some parenting tips to help you control your kid during festivals specially with regard to food.
What To Feed The Kid During Festivals?
- More or less all festival foods cooked at home are alright for the child. The deal is that they don't want to stay at home and eat sambar rice. They eat all kinds of unhealthy eatables like chaats and fruits with masala cut for a long time.
- Due to the rush of people at home it is not possible for you to monitor the kids constantly; you'll simply be too busy. The only solution thus is to make these interesting foods at home to keep the little naughty ones at home. Make chaats and bhel puri in the clean environment of your own kitchen with healthy ingredients to prevent children from eating unhealthy street food.
- Some relatives who gather during festivals are into the habit of giving children all sorts of inappropriate food or sponsoring it for them. If you have to ensure your kid eats healthy food then you will have to put your foot down somewhere. Tell such adults politely that you don't want your child to eat that particular food because they are allergic to it or fall sick quickly. After all you will be the only one who suffers with the child if the child is sick. Prevention is better than cure, isn't it?
- Hot food is almost always healthy not only for kids but even adults. Make sure the festival foods your kid is consuming are piping hot and half your worries will be gone.
- During festivals when huge feasts are prepared, all of it is not consumed at once. Very often the left overs are stocked and served later. Moreover, in the rush of the festival people don't get the chance to refrigerate the food properly.
- For the first day or two is alright but after that you have to stop your kid from eating stale food. Let them have just dal and rice instead of special stale food. This is one of the best ways of ensuring that kids eat healthy food.
Keep your kids safe during festivals when it comes to food with these tips.
