Modern Families Have NETTEL

An issue that just can't be taken lightly, Nettel families, with rising cost of living, have been forced to have at least two breadwinners slogging all their lives for making lives comfortable for the whole family.
The research found that families often give up on get-togethers, vacations and even small picnics with children for work. The census statistics shows that a family with two full-time working parents and two children depended on the parents, feel they need to earn more than 110,000 dollars a year to have a comfortable life.
While its a unfortunate that its happening, still the number of the Nettel families in the country as seen a steady rise and the number has increased to 39 percent than the earlier figure of 15 per cent.
Social researcher Bernard Salt opines that in this new type of family there is a shift in even what is considered basic need. "Two full-time incomes are now required to cover the cost of everything from the mortgage and car repayments, ballet lessons, occasional meals out, orthodontist bills, multiple mobile phone bills as well as many other everyday items," says the social scientist.
While "Stressed out Nettel parents spend their evenings forever scheduling, organising and diarising about how to execute the next day''s business commitments amid their children''s pick-ups and drop-offs," he said.
But Salt is also quick to add that many Nettel "revel" in over organising their lives as it makes them feel superior. "By some bizarre twist of logic, many Nettels revel in the scheduling frenzy. As many couple feel like to assume an alpha family status as they are able to juggle and other activities, while other lesser being fail," says Salt.
