Jillan Fox and Tommy Dog

It was a full moon day. Jillan fox came out of his cave and walked towards the village to catch a rooster for his dinner. But even after walking for hours he could not get not even a small chicken.

Hungry and tired, Jillan reached at the gate of a big house. He peeped through the gate to see if he can get some food. Suddenly he heard a terrifying 'bow' of a dog. It was the loyal Tommy dog, who was on his night patrol around the house.

Jillan could not hide himself, and a huge dog came outside the gate and to Jillan's ill-fate, the dog sow him. Seeing a fox in the village, the dog was amused for a while. But the duty conscious Tommy could not tolerate a trespasser at night.

"Who are you?" asked Tommy to Jillan. "Did you come to steal anything from this house?" Tommy tried to threaten Jillan.

"I am Jillan fox from the nearby forest" Jillan replied humbly.

"If you are Jillan I am the Tommy dog, the one and only guard of this house. Tell me why did you come here?" Tommy couldn't hold his anger.

"I came in search of some food. But didn't get anything. I am dying of hunger." Jillan started crying.

Listening the humble words of Jillan, Tommy felt sympathy. He ran towards his house and brought some cutlet and chicken pieces for Jillan.

Jillan was more than happy and started eating the dinner. Then he asked "Tommy, if I eat all these what you will have for your dinner?"

Tommy answered, "Don't worry. I have some biscuits and egg-fry left at home."

What is that biscuits and egg-fry? curious Jillan asked.

Haven't you eaten all these things? asked Tommy dog.

"No I haven't. I am not lucky enough as you are" answered Jillan

Tommy grew even more sympathetic and told Jillan. "If you are interested, I can get you a job here with me. And you will get all the luxuries here."

Mean while Jillan noticed a belt on Tommy's neck. What is this? asked Jillan
"Oh! This is the belt used to chain me during day time." answered Tommy.

"I cannot live under chains, and I don't want your biscuit and egg-fry to. Even if starving my forest is far better than your life." Jillan started running towards his forest.
