Reading To Your Child Lowers Behavioral Problem

Read to your child if you wish to have them perform well in school. A UK study revealed a correlation between spending time with your children and behavioral problems. It is vital for the parents to be able to spend quality time reading books, watching TV, teaching alphabets and counting.
The Institute of education study found that the child's achievement at the age of five was directly affected by the manner in which parents looked after their children and helped them with skill development.
The conclusion was reached after Government-commissioned study assessed the cognitive abilities of just over 8,000 five-year-olds for foundation stage profile, a teacher's assessment of a child's achievement after one year at school.
A Questionnaire was used for the study, it concluded: "Reading to the child every day and having a mother who thinks it is important to stimulate young children are positively associated with all cognitive outcomes and negatively with problem behavior."
It also stated that reading to a child every day "appears to lower behavioral problems". These children had high behavioral score and performed better in foundation stage profile.
