Does Paracetamol Cause Asthma In Babies?
A new study says that if a pregnant woman uses paracetamol, the the baby would later suffer the risk of asthma. Paracetamol is a painkiller and most of us overuse it. This study warns that pregnant women must stay away from this drug.

Researchers found that children of mothers who used paracetamol while pregnancy gradually showed symptoms of asthma when they reached 3 years of age.

Today, paracetamol is widely used all over the world as it is commonly available over the counter painkiller. This study was mainly focused on the link between the usage of asthma in pregnant mothers and asthma in children of those mothers.

Health experts advise pregnant women to stay away from all types of over the counter drugs as some of them could have side effects on the baby's health. It is better to stay in touch with a doctor throughout the pregnancy till the delivery in order to avoid such complications.

In fact, a lot of research is yet to be done on many other drugs and their side effects during pregnancy. Till now, paracetamol is being used to treat fever and pains during pregnancy as there wasn't enough evidence that proves that it could affect the baby's health.

In fact, it is better to avoid using medicines during pregnancy especially in the first trimester. If pain and fever persist, it is better to consult a doctor for advise. But usage of over the counter drugs isn't recommended.
