How To Prevent Acid Reflux In Kids
Not only adults, even children may suffer from acid reflux. Some estimates say that nearly 24% of the children tend to experience the symptoms of acid reflux occasionally.

Acid reflux could cause certain problems like pain in the stomach, disturbed sleep and vomiting sensation in children.

If parents know a bit more about the right feeding strategies, they could avoid the problems of acid reflux.
When food reaches the stomach after a meal, the esophageal sphincter tends to contract a bit to prevent the stomach acids from refluxing back. In some cases, when the acids reflux due to any reason, it could cause irritation and cause heartburn.

If the degree of pain is too much, only a doctor can prescribe medicines for your child. Generally, babies may overcome this problem after they cross a year as they spend much of their time in standing position after meals.

Very small babies tend to spend more time lying around and this may fuel the problem more. You may need to ensure that your baby sits upright after a meal at least for half an hour to avoid acid reflux.
Also, ensure that you reduce the portion size and feed your baby frequently instead of offering big meals. If you feed too much of milk, the baby may vomit out most of it. If you feed small quantities of milk, your baby may be able to digest it faster without suffering acid reflux.

Also, make your baby sleep towards the left side as this position tends to keep the stomach contents intact instead of throwing them up. Allow your baby to sleep only after an hour of feeding to avoid acid reflux.
