First Solid Foods For Babies: List
When you introduce solid food to your baby, it is an important phase in your life as this is a memorable moment for a new parent. Solid foods for babies should be given at a time when the child's gums is a little strong. The introduction of solid foods for the baby should be commenced only after the paediatrician gives you the green signal.
The first food for babies is important as whole new diet is introduced to them. No more living on only milk products and breast milk. As a parent, you should notice some of these signs to know when your baby is ready to eat and enjoy solid food.
HOW TO HANDLE A CHILD'S EATING HABITS?
The signs:
1. When your baby can sit up and hold her head and neck up well is the first sign she is ready for her first solid food.
2. When your little baby keeps the food in her mouth rather than letting it dribble out is the second sign you should pay heed to.
3. Notice her birth weight. If it has doubled and you know she is ready to consume solid food, you should go ahead.

Potato
Sweet potato is one of the favourite baby foods on the list. Boil a sweet potato, smash it using your fingers and feed your baby. He/she will love this solid food.

Pumpkin
The best first food for babies is pumpkin. Orange pumpkin is healthier for your little one when compared to white pumpkin. Orange pumpkin will also help relieve teething pain.

Banana
Chop a ripened banana into pieces and feed your little one. Most babies love ripened bananas since they have a sweet taste

Apples
Apples are one of the very best first solid food for babies to consume. It has a high amount of Vitamin C which is good for your babies immunity.

Fish
Salmon is an important first solid food for babies to consume. Boil half a piece of salmon with a pinch of salt and feed your baby once in a week. It contains omega fats, which are essential for little ones to eat.

Whole Grains
When your baby is hungry, give him/her a slice of brown bread to nibble on. Whole wheat foods should be included in the first solid food list as it is good for bowel movement.

Cereal
Flavoured cereals are liked by many babies. Therefore, try to feed your baby a little cereal and milk as breakfast. It is a healthy first solid food for babies to start their day with.

Shredded Chicken
Chicken is a heat inducing food, therefore, do not let your baby eat too much of chicken. Keep it to a minimum (preferably once a week).

Tofu
One of the healthiest fist solid food for babies is tofu. Tofu provides your baby with calcium to strengthen the bones.

Eggs
Boiled eggs is a must for babies to consume twice in a week. It is rich in calcium, which will keep them healthy and strong.

Oatmeal
Babies who are teething should be given oatmeal. This food which is mushy in nature will make their gums feel better.

Avocado
Slit an avocado into half and remove the pulp. Smash the pulp and feed your little baby. But go easy on smashed avocado as it can be a little heavy to digest.
