Who Was Prateek Yadav? Former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Younger Son Passes Away Suddenly At 38
Prateek Yadav, 38, passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. He was reportedly taken to a hospital after falling unwell at home, where doctors declared him brought dead. The exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed yet, and medical details are still awaited from authorities.
As of now, this is the only verified information available from credible reports. The news has drawn attention not just because of the suddenness of his passing, but also due to his connection to one of Uttar Pradesh's most well-known political families.
Who Was Prateek Yadav
Prateek Yadav was the son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and founder of the Samajwadi Party. His mother was Sadhana Gupta. He was also the half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Even though he came from a deeply political family, Prateek did not take an active political role himself. He stayed largely away from electoral politics and built his life around business and personal ventures.

विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि!
Life Beyond Politics
If you're only looking at the surname, it's easy to assume he was involved in politics. But that wasn't really his path.
Prateek Yadav largely stayed away from active politics and focused instead on business and personal interests linked to fitness and entrepreneurship. He was a dedicated fitness enthusiast and bodybuilder, and in 2012 he reportedly gained international recognition after becoming the first Indian to win the "International Transformation of the Month" on bodybuilding.com.
He also built entrepreneurial ventures in the fitness space, including founding the premium gym chain 'Iron Core Fit' and the athleisure brand 'Iron Hyde Apparel'. Alongside this, he was involved in real estate and managed business interests in that sector.
Beyond business, he was also associated with animal welfare and supported rescue-related initiatives, reflecting a consistent interest in animal rights and care.
His public identity remained largely outside political headlines, even though his family name often kept him in the news.
Personal Life and Public Attention
Prateek was married to Aparna Yadav, who is associated with the BJP. Their marriage in 2011 drew public attention due to the political affiliations on both sides of the family.
In later years, the relationship came into public focus after Prateek made social media posts indicating serious differences within the marriage and expressing his intention to seek divorce. The situation was widely reported at the time. However, he later posted updates suggesting that the matter had been resolved and that the couple had reconciled.
Despite being part of a high-profile family, he maintained a relatively private lifestyle compared to other public figures in the Yadav family.
Prateek Yadav's passing brings attention back to a family that has long been part of Uttar Pradesh's political landscape. While he wasn't active in politics himself, his identity was closely tied to it through family connections. For now, the focus remains on confirmed facts and awaiting clarity on what led to his sudden death.
