Republic Day Parade 2026: Date, Time, Venue, Tickets and Entry Guidelines
The 77th Republic Day Parade will take place on Monday, 26 January 2026, at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. This iconic stretch near India Gate hosts the country's grand Republic Day celebrations every year. The parade marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution and highlights India's military strength, rich cultural diversity, and growing technological progress.
Timings: Gates, Parade Start & Viewing Hours
- Entry gates open: Around 7:00 AM for spectators.
- Parade starts: 9:30 AM sharp.
- Because of security checks and crowd size, arriving early, at or soon after the gates open is strongly recommended.
How to Watch the Parade Live
Not everyone can get a ticket, but millions can still watch:

Tickets: Booking, Counters & Tips
Booking Window
Republic Day parade tickets were available for online and offline booking from January 5 to January 14, 2026.
Where and How to Book
- Online: At the official Aamantran portal: aamantran.mod.gov.in. First-come-first-served basis from 9:00 AM daily until the quotas are exhausted.
- Offline counters: Operated at designated Delhi locations including Sena Bhawan, Shastri Bhawan, Jantar Mantar, Parliament House, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, and Kashmere Gate Metro Station during the ticketing period.
- Photo ID Requirement: You must carry the same original government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport, etc.) used at the time of booking to enter the venue.
- Booking Tips: Some attendees reported high demand and website issues, so being ready right when the tickets open (usually early morning) can help.
Entry Rules and Security Guidelines
Security is tight, and entry is permitted only with valid tickets and ID.
Prohibited Items
Several items are banned from the parade area for safety reasons. Commonly restricted items include:
- Bags of any size
- Food, snacks, and beverages
- Tobacco products and alcohol
- Sharp objects (knives, scissors, blades)
- Electronics like power banks, cameras, drones, tablets
- Umbrellas, toys, balloons on sticks, large flags
Allowed: Mobile phones for personal use (no bulky devices).
Tip: Travel light, as security checks are thorough and strict.
Travel and Traffic Advisory
Major traffic restrictions are in place around central Delhi until the parade concludes:
- Roads around Kartavya Path, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, and key zones may be closed or restricted on the morning of January 26.
- Private vehicles are generally not allowed near the parade route.
- Using Metro is recommended, with special early services planned on Republic Day to help crowds reach the venue.
Parade Highlights
While the exact 2026 float themes are part of official announcements, the event traditionally includes:
