He Was Born As A Regular Healthy Kid
When Luis Manuel was born, he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz, which is 3.5 kg at birth. It is considered to be the regular healthy weight of a newborn baby, unless his family noticed that he rapidly began to put on weight.
The Mother Assumed
Luis's mother, named Isabel Pantoja, is just 24 years old and apparently she assumed that the baby's growth was down to the fact that "she had good breast milk", but now she is desperately worried for her son.
He Had A Rapid Growth
According to his family, when he was just a month old, he had started growing fast and as a result he had to be dressed in clothes that were big enough for two year olds. This was because his waistline expanded 'so fast'.
He Suffers From A Rare Condition
According to the doctors, the baby suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome. It is an incurable disorder that can trigger heart attacks in children. According to the research, the rare genetic condition causes problems, including constant urges to eat food, restricted growth and reduced muscle tone.
The Family Cannot Afford The Treatment
Apparently, his poverty-stricken family has launched a fund-raising appeal, so that they can afford the medical treatment for their son if the diagnosis is confirmed on his condition.
