Insects That Are Eaten Around The World
We are sure you'll be in shock after you read the headline. It is hard to believe that those creepy creatures can actually be served on the plates and are eaten by humans! But this is true. Eating insects is a common practice among most cultures around the world. In fact about 80 percent of the world population survives on these creepy little things.
This practice of eating insects is known as entomophagy. You will be really surprised to see the list of insects which are actually consumed by the humans around the world and they are delicacies which are prized at high rates. Some of the popular insects which are eaten around the world are crickets, maggots, grasshoppers, ants, caterpillars, wasps and the weird list continues.

Chocolate Scorpion
No, this scorpion won't sting you because it is fried in hot oil and then stir fried. Chinese serve these creepy creatures by covering it with chocolate.

Termites
So, they destroyed your furniture. It's time to take revenge on these termites. So, the Africans just eat them up! Termites are sauteed over open flame and even eaten raw.

Barbecued Silkworms
The barbecued silkworms can be eaten easily. After cooking the yellow meat inside it tastes like tofu and smells of raw meat.

Mosquito Eggs
Chance to take revenge on these blood sucking devils! In Mexico the mosquito eggs are first dried and then roasted and served with a squeeze of lemon.

Seems insane but true. In Cambodia fried spiders are a delicacy. These creepy crawlers are bred for the purpose of eating.

And you thought that disgusting insect exists only to scare you now and then. It seems cockroaches taste delicious when toasted, fried or boiled.

Locusts were a hot favourite of the ancient Greeks. It was a favourite dish of the lower class people in Greece.
