In the metros, auto drivers are called money looters. They loot money irrespective of the distance, time and people. They talk filthy and use abusive words if their demands aren't met. Today, let's tell you on how to play smart and deal with these men.
Tips To Deal With Auto Drivers -
1. You know that you wouldn't be getting change for the money you paid. Do not get into arguments instead carry the right change you need to pay.
2. Avoid getting down near your residence if you feel the auto driver isn't ok. Drivers may note down your house address and may create a lot of problems.
3. Avoid having conversation with auto drivers as they may take you for granted and demand more money. Do not sympathise people you don't know.
4. If you have moved to a new place and do not have any idea about the local language, try to know some basics to communicate with drivers as they may misguide you with numbers and your address.
5. Demand the driver to put on the meter and if he doesn't accept, simply get down from the auto. The very reason why the auto drivers don't reload their meters is because they would want to charge more.
6. Prefer those auto rickshaws which have digital meters as they cannot be miscalibrated.
7. Women, specially should avoid wearing short, sleezy and revealing clothes as most of the women harassment cases have auto drivers playing a big role.
8. Avoid wearing gold jewellery and carrying a lot of cash when you don't the city routes well. Some drivers are no less kidnappers.
