In the modern day lifestyle, workplace does interfere a lot with personal life. As many as 50 per cent of people bring their work home more than three days a week. Data from a national survey of 1,800 American workers showed the extent to which work interfered with personal life.
Most people either get office work at home or sacrifice on leisure activities to prepare for a presentation on Monday mornings.
Such situations occur quite frequently and is followed by a growing concern regarding its negative health impacts. The imbalance between work life and private life gives to ill-health and diseases which are silent killers.
People with higher education qualifications and professionals at a higher position face higher level of work interference in personal life. It is often referred as 'stress of the higher status.'
While many benefits undoubtedly accrue to those in higher positions, cutting down on family time is the biggest disadvantage.
