The much debated term 'Gay' or 'Homosexuality', is still not a very accepted term in Indian society. Though now there are laws and measures for them, world still remains a difficult place to live in for gays. Their circle of 'friends' is restricted to gay's and not straight men.

Gay is not a very new term, history has examples of men who were gay. It is just that earlier many never confessed their sexual status. Movies as we say play a great role in building an impression and they are not doing it in the favour of gay men. Most of the movies, use the gay status as a part of comedy, which has created a very wrong impression of gayism among the general crowd. A gay person, does not necessarily have to behave strange, they can be and are as normal as others. They can be good friends.

It has been noticed that girls are turning out to accept gay men better than the rest of the crowd. Infact now it is said that gay men are girls best friend. Lets probe into it a bit more -

1.They Are Safe – When a girl and boy meet, the boy generally starts evaluating the girl on her looks, thoughts etc. Boys generally evaluate a girl on her sex appeal. It can sometimes be quite bugging. When girls look for a simple friendship, they want the approach to be devoid of all this. That's exactly what they get from Gay men. Thus they are safe and comfortable to be with.

2.Gay Don't Try Hard – Gay men don't try to portray or set a good impression. They stick to what they generally are. Women, always prize honesty and thus, they respect the honesty appeal of the gay making them their best friends.

3.Gay Are Sensitive – In a man dominated society gay and women share some of the same problems like discrimination, domination etc. These sufferings help the two minds bind into a relation of true friendship. A girl in a relationship with a boy often misses the kind of understanding she wants. This gap is often filled by a gay friend.

4.Gay Men Are Blessed With Qualities – Generally gay men are blessed with creative and artistic traits. Women too prize such qualities. This similar trait, bring them together. They can compliment each others creativity and also share their thoughts. Women often miss sharing their creative side with men.

5.Gays Can Be Special Friends To Women – Gay's have the ability to think like a women, thus, they understand women better. They can give the right solution to a problem and support them in times of distress.

6.Gay Don't Dominate – Men generally suffer from a superiority complex. They may love a girl whole heartedly but still the trait of domination is always present. This is not the case with gay men. They are at power with women.

We should understand that 'gay' is not a bad term. They are human beings and deserve same rights and respect. Many of you may find it difficult to start a conversation with gay men but that's only because you are approaching them with a negative thought. Cleanse your mind with all the differences and you will surely find a friend in them.
