Facebook And Skype In Partnership

Facebook users will now be able to sign into Skype through Facebook account and will be able to send text messages, voice chat and video chat with their friends. It is being expected that the official announcement will be made within a few weeks time.
According to Wall Street Journal, the partnership will enable 560 million users of Skype and 500 million users of Facebook to get linked on a common platform.
"The partnership will likely step up pressure on Google, which is battling Facebook for Internet users' attention and last month moved to integrate voice calling into its Gmail service," the report added.
A source has confirmed that the integrated function will be built into Skype's 5.0 version. Skype free software will be distributed which will allow people to make free video calls to other Skype users. They will also introduce a paid service which will offer low-cost calls from Skype to landline or mobile.
