Tech guru Tim O'Reilly, the founder of O'Reilly Media, believes Web 2.0 community will prove to be be more productive, as compared to the useless applications at the FaceBook. At the conference held this week, the UK-based social media consultant Chris Thorpe stated that the Obama '08 iPhone application was launched just a month after the O'Reilly call for Obama's campaign.
The application organised and prioritised contacts in key battleground states, "making it easy [for campaigners] to reach out and make an impact quickly", reports New Scientist.
The conference also spoke about the other networking sites that would satisfy the O'Reilly challenge, like the networking site Accesscity. A community in this site help the Londoners to discover simplest routes across the city, from pushing a baby buggy to carrying heavy bags.
