Not greeting 'good morning' or saying 'hello', not offering office guests beverages, speaking aloud and swearing were some of the most offensive work place behaviors. Taking calls on personal cell was also considered rude along with using stationary with out permission and probing colleagues with personal questions.
The survey conducted by the Australian-based international office space provider Servcorp showed that the English and the Americans are most easily insulted as compared to Middle East, Japan, and China. It also revealed that about 25 percent of the Oz believed that it is perfectly normal to swear.
The survey also showed the Australians admitting to calling their boss by their first names perfectly normal, where as the Chinese find the same quite offensive. According to China Daily, Aussies are known to take personal calls, talking aloud and asking personal questions.
"Being aware of potentially offensive behaviour is a key factor to Australian business success abroad," Taine Moufarrige, Servcorp's executive director said in a statement. "Australians are very natural in their business style, perhaps more so than any other country in the world," she added. AGENCIES
