HCL Unveils The Cheapest Laptop
January 17: "Less cost and more profit"seems to be the latest technology trend. After the big talk show on every media about the world's cheapest car, Tata's Nano, HCL thrives to sell the cheapest laptop priced just for Rs. 13, 990. Read all about it to be the first in the row to grab one to your workstation.
HCL Infosystems introduced MiLeap, an ultra portable range of laptops yesterday. The laptop is miles ahead of competition in both cost and size. MiLeap would be available in two series X and Y priced at Rs 13,990 and Rs 29,990 respectively. It is at least Rs 5,000 cheaper than its nearest competitor. For instance, Compaq's low-end Presario notebooks begin at around Rs.24,000, and Acer's notebooks with Celeron processor begins around Rs.25,000.
MiLeap would offer users full mobile Internet experience combined with PC functionality. Both the models come with Intel processor and weigh less than a kilogram. The X-series would have both the options of Linux-based operating system with flash-based and disk-based storage versions. The high-end Y series would have multiple navigational features such as thumb board, stylus, touch screen, keyboard and touch buttons with Windows Vista as operating system. The exclusively designed laptop for Indian consumers will hit the stores on January 26.
