Shani Shingnapur – Rock Deity
This temple got famous for a wrong reason when the trust authorities performed a purification ritual, when a young girl galloped to touch the rock deity. According to the belief, it is said that the rock deity is apparently kept in a restricted area to debar a woman's touch.

Nizamuddin Dargah – Inner Chamber
This tradition has been going on for nearly 700 years. Here, all female devotees are confined till a certain periphery and they are restricted from entering the inner chamber where the saint lived.

AMU – Maulana Azad Library
According to reports, the college authorities do not allow women to access the library with the fear of causing discipline issues. They believe that "if girls will come to the library, it would mean four times more boys in the library, as the boys will get attracted to them and discipline issues will crop up."

Haji Ali Dargah
This famous shrine was built in the 15th century and was dedicated to a Sufi saint named Pir Haji Ali Bukhari. The inner sanctum has been forbidden for women and as per the Sharia Law, it is un-Islamic for women to enter the place.

Sabarimala – Ayyappa Temple
According to the law, women from the age group 10-50 are barred from entering the premises. It is said that women reach their menstruating state, and a woman entering a temple in this state is believed to make the place impure!

Lord Karthikeya Temple – Pehowa (Haryana) And Pushkar (Rajasthan)
This temple celebrates the celibate form of Lord Karthikeyan and hence a woman is not allowed to enter into the premises of this temple. It is believed that if a woman tries to enter this temple, she will be cursed rather than be blessed.
