Deryn Blackwell was a 13-year-old boy who lived life like any other normal teenager; however, his doctors handed him some devastating news.

Doctors Claimed He Had Leukaemia…

Deryn learned that he had leukaemia and only had a few days before he needed a surgery. It is a condition in which a group of cancers, rather than an individual cancer, is said to attack the bone marrow and blood-forming organs of the body.

He Was Really Unlucky….

His surgery was successful, but it is said that the little boy has been really unlucky, as it turned out that leukaemia wasn't the only cancer he had. The reports claimed that he also suffered from a very rare form of cancer called Langerhan's Cell Sarcoma!

He Suffered From Extreme Pain…

His mom says, "The tips of my son Deryn's fingers were hard and black from a superbug infection. His nails were peeling away, and any remaining live flesh was covered in weeping sores. Every day, he begged me: 'Please tell them to cut my hand off, Mom'. I can't take this anymore."

She Decided To Use The Illegal Drug…

When his mom was given the bad news that Deryn would be able to only live for another two more weeks, as his condition did not improve, she decided to take the matter in her hands.

The Doctors Told Her...

The doctors at the hospital told his mum that marijuana could help him; however, since there had been no studies of marijuana used in cases of children, they did not give it to him.
