She Decided To Defy The Atrocities Of The Upper Caste
She retaliated by covering her breasts all the time in public and this angered the upper caste community. She was termed the ‘notorious woman' and she was fearless, as her husband supported her.

Fear Of Revolt
The King decided to charge her with tax for covering up her breasts in public and this did not stop her, as she decided to cut her breasts and handed it over to the people who had come to her house for tax collection. Seeing her, they fled and she instantly bled to death!

Her Husband Couldn't Handle The Loss…
Seeing his wife's burning pyre, he jumped in too, as he could not live without his wife. This made him the first man to commit Sati. The King had to abolish the practice, as he feared public outcry.
