In a village, in the northwest of Cambodia, the dads go out of their way to encourage their girls to have sex, by building them love huts in which they can spend the night with their boyfriends.

This bizarre culture has been followed since years and it seems that it would not fade away any sooner.

The Kreung Tribe Follow This Bizarre Practice

Members of the Kreung tribe in the northeast of the country believe that women can be empowered through spending the night with different members of the opposite sex. Hence, the fathers build love huts for their daughters who are as young as 9! The tribe believes the ancient practice is the best way for girls to find their future husbands.

The Girl Is The Decider…

When the girl reaches her early teenage years, or possibly even before, the love hut built by their dad becomes the place for them to meet and get to know the boys of their tribe, even before a girl would decide on her one true love.

This Tribe Is Famous For Other Reasons As Well…

Apart from encouraging young girls to become sexually active, this tribe is famous for its other bizarre practices as well. For example, one of their previous tradition of using a cocktail of alcohol and a centipede as a contraceptive had created ripples on the internet when this was discovered about them! Apparently, now the tribe people use condoms.

When one of the girls was asked about this practice, she revealed, "The huts provide us independence and are the best ways through which we can explore our true lover."

According to the villagers, divorce or sexual violence remains non-existent in the community. Young women only engage in relationships with those they feel comfortable with. Hence, chances of divorce and other troubles do not arise.
