LFW 2013: Vikram Phadnis's Gold Collection

The ramp pf LFW 2013 suddenly turned into Apollo's nest when models dressed in sheer gold started walking down the ramp. We are talking about Vikram Phadnis' 'Gold' collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2013 of course. The collection was titled 'Gold' because designer Vikram Phadnis believes that women deserve nothing less dazzling than gold for themselves.

LFW 2013 is yet to see a stunning and shimmering collection like this one. We had gowns, short dresses, jackets and pants all in sheer gold colour. Vikram Phadnis gave the viewers an amazing variety within the single golden colour palate that he chose. There were all kinds of clothes both modern and traditional within this single collection.

The showstopper for Vikram Phadnis was the gorgeous Karisma Kapoor. She looked breathtaking in a shimmering golden coloured gown. The floor length gown had sheer and solid gold portions in it. Karisma Kapoor's gown was full-sleeved and was made of golden lace in the top half. The lace portions of Karisma's gown had shimmering golden details. The skirt of the gown was made solid block gold fabric.

To cheer her elder sister, Kareena Kapoor was present at the venue of LFW 2013 at Grand Hyatt. Kareena looked pretty in a neon green gown with a patch of black on the neckline. All in all Vikram Phadnis's collection for Lakme Fashion Week was literally sheer 'Gold'.

Golden Web Dress

This gown comprises of a shimmering gold bodice and a skirt that has a golden web over layers of lace.

Golden Jumpsuit

This creamy silk jumpsuit is made of silk. The waist of the outfit is pinched and the look is completed by a thick gold neck-piece.

Golden Palazzo Pants

The best part of this matte gold ensemble was the loose silk palazzo pants.

Webbed Gold Mini Dress

This mini dress was cap sleeved and has a golden webbed pattern all-over it.

Thigh High Slit

This collared dress was actually a thigh-high slit gown. It had a golden shirt with white crochet work on it.

Floral Golden Jacket

This matte gold cropped jacket has floral golden work on it giving it an interesting oriental twist.

Diagonal Striped Golden Dress

The diagonal golden striped on this dress are obvious due to the texture. The dress is radiant gold in colour and comes up to the knees.

Golden Bell Bottoms

Bell bottom pants are not exactly in fashion. But the lace golden bell bottom pants look stylish on the ramp.

Puff-sleeved Vest

The sleeveless jacket looks very Shakespearean. There is a bountiful puff around the sleeves.

Pleated Golden Gown

This gown has a pleated golden skirt that is made of solid golden fabric. The top half of the dress has embroidered patterns.

Webbed Golden Jacket

This gown has been worn with a long and trailing jacket. The texture of the jacket is like a golden fish net.

Gold Plated Vest

The design of this gown apes the typical Shakespearean dresses. The gown has a gold-plated solid metal vest and puffed lace sleeves.

Gold n White Crochet

The dress is full-sleeved and golden in colour. A white crochet poncho adds variety to the look.

Coin Patterned Dress

This shirt sleeved gown has a very interesting skirt. The pleated length of the gown has golden coin pattens in it.

Karisma Kapoor

The showstopper, Karisma Kapoor's gown is composed of lace and a bling golden fabric. The top part of the outfit has lace with golden details on it. The lower half of the dress is for the bling element.
