INIFD Collection At Lakme Fashion Week’13

After the opening show of Manish Malhotra's collection at the Lakme Fashion Week 2013, it was obvious that we will see the best of winter fashion in this week. So from Manish Malhotra's Indian weaves and majestic lehengas, we go straight to modern Western winter wear. INIFD collection was full of heavy winter clothes. Over-sized coats, jackets and sweaters were showcased in the Gen Next Show at the Lakme Fashion Week 2013.

The INIFD collection was truly Western in temperament. The blazers were all in beige, browns and blacks. There were also a few monochrome creations that added a touch of glamour to the ramp of LFW 2013. But apart from the blacks and beiges, there was a smattering of colours in the INIFD collection as well. There were a few boho-chic multi-coloured outfits to make things colourful in the drab winters.

Here are some select deisgns from the INIFD collection at Lakme FashioN Week 2013.

Black Overcoats

These black overcoats are for very chilling winters. They are over-sized and worn over layers of sweaters and body warmers.

Fuzzy Overcoat

A fuzzy foam overcoat is being carried over the model's shoulder. But the polo neck sweater is what we like about this look.

Patchwork Jackets

These two jackets are well-fitting and very appropriate for the moderate winters. The interesting pattern is the patch work.

Fur Collars

These two overcoats have black fur collars on them. The fur is not too fuzzy but neat.

Leather n Fur Coat

There is an overwhelming use of black in the INIFD collection. This model is wearing a black leather jacket topped with a black fur coat.

Strappy Brown Dress

This strappy brown silk dress is perfect for cocktail parties. But the skin coloured shrug covers only one arm.

Layered White Dress

This white silk dress has a monochrome neckline. The lapels hanging under the arm are shaded in orange. Interesting combination of colours.

Brown Saree With Strappy Jacket

This brown silk saree is pretty plain but the pleated draping style has given it come texture. Over the saree, the model is wearing strappy poncho style jacket.

Knotted Scarves

This look makes use of very smart winter accessories. Many long monochrome stoles have been knotted over the outfit. The neckline looked like a rolled up and pleated silk scarf.

Strappy Blue n Brown Gown

This gown has patches of navy blue and brown. The strappy jacket worn over the gown is like second layer of the dress.

Graffiti Dress

These dresses have graffiti on a white background. Loud neon colours are used in these patterns.

Graffiti Jumpsuits

After the dresses, there were a couple of jumpsuits as well. The light green one is particularly smart.

Graffiti Saree

This sky blue chiffon saree has drawings and cartoon patterns in it. The bright colours make the saree look very lively.
