Women's Day: Do We Really Need It?

Woman's day is celebrated all across the globe on 8th march. But significance of women can not be summed up by just celebrating a single day. The existence and the worth of women today cannot be just used to promote lavish commodities and naming it to be womens day gallore. So to prove that woman of today are equal with men do we really need a day?

WHY DO WE CELEBRATE WOMENS DAY?

1.So That Media Conglomerates Can Make Money: Woman’s significance can not be confined to just one day. Today's times to show that woman are equal to men a special day has been created. Woman equality and stand in the society may not come only by celebrating a single day. These special days have just been created as a gimmick to get people enroll in the business strategy of companies.

2. Womens Day Can Bring Awareness In Rural Areas- Women's day can bring awareness amongst the disadvantaged classes in society. If not the urban population, rural masses can be benefited by the hype and publicity. Be it awareness towards 'breast cancer' or 'cervical cancer' or towards the increasing population. The advertisements can grab eyeballs of rural women and bring public awareness towards birth control. So the strategies are being of help to the women inclined society in some way even if it is not intended.

3. To Celebrate Women Power By Mere Felicitation- Women's day is celebrated all across to felicitate women power and their contribution to the society. So if woman are such an integral part of the society then no day can actually applaud their contribution to the society. The mere existence of a person depends on a woman then no day could match up her contribution to the world. For god sake , we are 50% of the population what do you want to applaud us for?

4. To Reduce Men's Bias And To Take Action For Women's Rights- Significance of women and gender equality topics slowly are catching pace amongst the authorities. Be it giving equal roles and responsibilities to women or allowing them to reach immense heights Womens Day is to celebrate women independence. May be it will eventually help us break the corporate glass ceiling too.

5.. Actual Necessity Of This Day- This day may hold different meaning to different people. To some it may be a day to feel proud of their existence and to some yet another day of the calender. To introduce gender equality and to reduce men bias by giving equal rights in various aspects would actually be special than a single day celebration to prove woman are significant. Gender equality is very integral for a healthy society.

So do woman really need a Women's day to celebrate their existence? Each one to her own.
