Oprah Winfrey revealed she has a half sister named Patricia, who lives in Milwaukee. If the name sounds familiar to you, that is because, Oprah Winfrey earlier had spoken about another sister with the same name who had died and also lived in Milwaukee, leaving her the only living child to her parents. When asked, Oprah said the similarity of the name is just a coincidence.

Oprah Winfrey had spoken about her half sister on her Monday show and had revealed that Patricia was given up for adoption in 1963. Oprah Winfrey was just nine years old and had no idea that her mother was pregnant. As their family could not afford to have another child, they had given Patricia up for adoption. Patricia found that she was Oprah Winfrey's half sister, while looking for her birth mother. For the last three years she have been trying to contact Oprah but they finally met last year Thanksgiving.

Oprah Winfrey's half sister, Patricia is 48 years old, has a son and a daughter. After the revelation of her half sister, Oprah Winfrey has now taken up the task of facing all the rumours about her. One of the rumours also accuses her of being pregnant at the age of fourteen. Oprah says she will talk about all the rumours one at a time. Patricia, has pleased her sister by not going to the media first. This has saved Oprah from another rumour making rounds.
