Blake Edwards, The "Pink Panther" Director Dies

Blake Edwards, born in 1922, was an absolute product of the era and was said to be unwell for sometime. With family members, his wife and actress Julie Andrews was with him at his bedside when he died on Wednesday. She said that Blake Edwards was the most unique man she ever knew and that she misses him beyond words and Blake will forever remain in her heart.
Blake Edwards is well known for his magnum opus "The Pink Panther series" in which Peter Sellers played the lead role of a crazy police detective Jacques Clouseau and 1961's classic Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn.
Apart from directing, Blake Edwards also worked as writer-producer for many movies. Though the director never got an Oscar or a Golden Globe award for his films, he was given an Honourary Oscar in recognition of his enduring contribution.
