World Health Day 2026: You’re Not As Healthy As You Think—Here’s Why
He wears turban... and he is model

Meet Mr. Sony Caberwal the hunk who features in the latest edition of GQ. Now before you google with the name, there is some thing else you would like to know. He is the first turbaned Sikh super model to be featured in the magazine. Now does it get spicier? Well, if it doesn't, then take this: Caberwal is no model, neither a holly wood star. A businessman, by profession, he got the offer of featuring in the fashion magazine when the American Fashion Designer, Kenneth Cole, found his photographs too attracting to be ignored. "Cole was looking for a turbaned man for their 25th anniversary campaign, but could find no professional Sikh model. My brother-in-law suggested that I email a photo to them, and the rest is history," the Telegraph quoted Caberwal as saying.
Not surprisingly, our turban-man is elated to have been receiving encouraging response for his GQ debut, and is happy to know that his accomplishment will boost the confidence of many aspiring Sikh models. "It's not about me, but about Sikh identity and about our culture and traditions being in a positive light to people around the world," Caberwal said.
Meanwhile, Caberwal has also featured in a video called "We Walk in Different Shoes", and has been signed up by the American and South African model agency, Boss. Ahem! Now this is what the whole fashion fraternity is suppose to be addictive and infectious.
