Panorama 2009, Entrepreneurship Week

The main aim of Panorama 2009 was to encourage eco-system for entrepreneurs and students and was inaugurated by K Ganesh, the MD and founder of Tutor Vista. The theme of the event was 'go green', Mr. Ganesh went on to highlight the importance of being environmentally aware and narrated his own story of starting his career working with a company that manufactured compact fluorescent lamps. The CEO of Myntra, Mukesh Bansal also went on to talk about his struggles while establishing Myntra along with Padma Shastry from Saahas.
'Ethon' provided the meeting and sharing platform for entrepreneurs. The main highlight was a national level business plan competition. K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai, emerged the winner, walking away with a prize of Rs 1 lakh. Their plan was 'Kadam-A school for the elderly' with team members Avipsha Banerjee and Siddharth Bhel. The runner up were Mats Business School. Their plan was 'Swatch-Waste Management'.
The 'Expressions' held competitions on street plays, documentary, and paper presentations. The judges were from CRY and saw efforts from the contestants about their concerns about child-related issues. 'Jubilant' showcased rock shows, fashion shows and fusion dance, with a participation from twenty teams. 'Euphony' was all about solo-singing with 23 contenders from 13 colleges, followed with 'Head strong' a rock band competition with theme 'save earth'.
The leading band was Demonic Resurrection, from Mumbai and the grand finale was 'Purple Stripes', a fashion show with ten colleges competing for the title. The event was a grand success and proved to be a major crowd puller.
