Britain's Worst hotels Ever

Rating their worst ever experiences at a hotel, the travelers have rated Britain's top 10 worst hotels. Based on the rankings by the guests, the list was compiled by travel site TripAdvisor.com. The guests were asked to rate from one to five stars.

Topping the list was Cromwell Crown in London, which offered rooms at an average 50-pound-a-night but failed to please few of those who chose to stay there.

Eighty one of the 102 guests that were quizzed rated their experience at Cromwell Crown as the 'worst', while others just gave the hotel one or two stars.

Corbigoes, landed itself at the second position while Nanford Guest House, Oxford, Cosmopolitan Hotel, Brighton and Eden Plaza Hotel, London made it to the remaining lot of worst top five.

"It is disappointing that many hotels across the land are still lacking basic cleanliness and hygiene standards," the Telegraph quoted Frances Tuke, from the Association of British Travel Agents, as saying.

"It's not good enough to have hotels like this representing our country. And it is worrying to see that London - the nation's tourism hub - seems to be plagued by them," Frances added.

6. Hanover Hotel, London

7. Rose Court Hotel, London

10. Park Hotel, London
