Obama's great-great-great-grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, is said to have sailed aboard the Marmion from Liverpool on March 20, 1850, with ideas of settling in Ohio according to Ancestry.com,

According to The New York Daily News, Kearney's roots can be traced back to the villages of Moneygall and Shinrone in County Offaly, Ireland.

Also, Joe Biden's ancestors have said to have arrived in the U.S almost at the same time as Obama's Irish family which could be within six months of the latter's arrival. Both also shared the same vocation. They were shoemakers by trade.
