World's Youngest Baby To Survive Tumor

Madison Quartarone is just a few weeks old and she already has a world record to her credit. The British baby was found to have a benign brain tumor when only a week old.

However the little survivor is on her highway to recovery after under going three "embilisation" operations at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

The process of "embilisation" involved injecting glue in to the arteries to cut off blood supply to a tumour. The post surgery scans have revealed that the tumor has shrunk.

Now, Madison can go home Bedford for New Year celebration with mum Charlene Smith. "I am not aware of anyone as young as Madison having this treatment. It could be ground-breaking," the Sun quoted Neurosurgeon Dominic Thompson as saying.
