On his first step on Moon, Neil Armstrong declared the immortal words 'this one step for man, is a giant leap for the mankind..' . To mark the 11th anniversary of that legendary moment a watch made from moon dust and original fragments of Apollo 11 is all set to go for sale.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the 1969 moon landings, the limited edition of 1,969 watches is expected to fetch 300,000 pounds. The steel casing has been made from tiny components of Apollo 11 - the first manned space mission to land on the moon. And the face has been coated in dust from rocks taken from the surface of the moon.

A spokeswoman for makers Romain Jerome of Geneva, Switzerland, said: "We cannot comment about where we got the moon dust from." Designer Yvan Arpa said: "We think space exploration fans and people who are passionate about the Moon will want one of these. Of course, they will need a little bit of money as well."
