IIFA continues to promote environmental awareness and advocacy; driving action among audiences around the world. IIFA's initiative on ozone protection and advocacy of climate protection is supported by the Green Globe Foundation and United Nations Environment Programme and The Energy Research Institute.

IIFA stands committed to take every possible step to strengthen its fight against Global Warming. Furthering its commitment towards the GREEN AGENDA, IIFA in association with Mufti launched the IIFA Eco warriors T-shirt at the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza announcement press conference in Mumbai on 27th May, 2008.

Present at the occasion were superstars Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Shweta and Niketan Dhir and leading Indian designers Vikram Phadnis and Manish Malhotra. The star-studded affair was hosted by BJN Banquets, Andheri West, offering world class amenities and superior standards in luxury.

The IIFA Weekend 2008 is being held from June 6th - 8th in Bangkok, the shopping paradise of Amazing Thailand. The IIFA Weekend, 2008 in association with Gitanjali is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The IIFA Fashion Extravaganza is presented by Mufti and Audi, in association with Diamrusa, Gitanjali Style Fest and co-sponsored by Alta Moda.

The highlight of the IIFA Weekend is the spectacular Idea IIFA Awards, which is the biggest South Asian media event, considered among the most-watched global annual events.
