VIPs Descend On Kochi For VVIP Wedding
Kochi : Political dignitaries, film stars and other VIPs today descended on Kochi to attend the wedding of Dennis George, the son of Mr V George, former private secretary to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Kerala Governor R L Bhatia, Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Central ministers Vayalar Ravi, Meira Kumar, Mani Shankar Aiyar and Subodh Kant Sahai besides AICC Media Cell Chairperson Veerappa Moily were among those who attended the nuptials at St Mary's Cathedral here.
Several ministers from Haryana and Delhi, MLAs, MPs and AICC secretaries besides veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran, former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala were also present.
Film stars Mammooty and Sukumari and athlete P T Usha also attended the wedding.
However, no one from the Gandhi family attended the wedding, local Congress party sources said.
Mr Dennis George married Karishma, daughter of Mr Nelson Phillip from Bangalore.
