Tirupati Temple to accept mobile donations

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is planning to start a mobile collection box (Hundi) to enable mobile donations. Donations given by devottes equal nearly million every year and once the new technoligy spreads its wings an increase in donation is expected. Hutch and Airtel will have this new service very shortly.

• TTD is the second most visited religious centre after Vatican City.
• Complex tecnologies have been evaluated to mange the large crowd.
• Devottes spend 60 to 180 minutes to go through the complex queue depending on the season.
• It has obtained machines from MICO Bosch to automate the making of Laddus (sweet prasadam).
• The diety is dressed with 1000 kg of gold and diamond jewellery, thus making iy one of the richest temple treasure.
