ford posts 87% rise on YoY sales

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) ford India has clocked 87 per cent rise in its vehicle sales at 42,060 units for the period January-December 2006, in comparison to 22,526 units sold during the same period last year.
The company sold 1,983 units in the month of December 2006, a statement issued here today said.
Due to steady rise in the cost of raw materials and fuel prices, starting January 1, 2007, the prices of Fiesta and Endeavour have been hiked by one per cent to 2.3 per cent respectively.
Price increase for ford's Fusion and Ikon are also under consideration, it added.
