Artists join TRUST Conference for Ashram
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 30 (UNI) As many as 26 artists participated in the two-day Conference of the Training and Rehabilitation of Underprivileged Members of Society, Tiruchirapalli (TRUST), which concluded at Shanthivanam near here last night.
Talking to UNI K Ramakrishnan, a leading psychiatrist in the city, who is also the executive secretary of the TRUST, said the Conferece was organised to motivate the mentally challenged and fund-raising to promote the welfare of the inmates of .
Dr Ramakrishnan said the paintings donated by the artists will be kept for display-cum-sale and the income will go to the TRUST for its social activities.
A corpus fund of Rs four crore would be raised to meet the financial requirements of TRUST, he added.
Senior artist A Viswam, former Principal of Madras College of Arts, Aadi Moolam, were among those who participated in the summit.
