It is said that the best diet for cats and dogs is always the naturally available food as they are raw eaters. The omnivores are used to eating uncooked food in the wild which is why they are healthy. Raw foods are always high in protein and give a lot exercise to the teeth. They need to do a lot of chewing and tearing to eat such a food. We, here, will discuss on how natural diet is best for dogs. Take a look.

Natural Diet Tips For Dogs -

1. The basic food for dogs should contain at least 50% of grains (boiled or steamed). The semi-digested food like brown rice, oatmeal, barley, millet and corn or even whole grain is staple and healthy.

2. A puree of vegetables (25%) like carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, yellow squash, zucchini and vegetable stock is highly recommended with the main course. Big dogs can be fed with the grain vegetable mix.

3. For puppies, we recommend high protein food (25%) for their healthy growth. Raw meat lightly steamed like beef, chicken, eggs, turkey or pork can be good protein supplements.

4. A beef leg bone is the best natural diet for dogs atleast once a week as they can keep some exercise to the mouth and teeth by chewing. Bone chewing also helps in maintaining the dogs teeth from plaque and gum disease.

5. Raw cooked eggs are also the best natural diet for pets. Some pet owners advise not to provide the egg white but if the diet is occasional it is fine as generally the dogs in the wild scavenge for food and eat eggs.

6. Fish as part of the pet diet is acceptable as it provides a lot vitamins and calcium strengthening the bones of the animal. With every one measure of meat it is good to combine one measure of grain and vegetables as that becomes a proper balanced diet for pets.
