World Health Day 2026: You’re Not As Healthy As You Think—Here’s Why
Chinese Cats Grow Wings

Tom cats in Sichuan, the southern China have sprouted wing like growths on their backs. The locals are ascribing the main reason for this is the warm weather of Sichuan and the female cats attentions. It's quite difficult to identify whether these are into birds or cats. These cats are becoming mysterious because of their strange wings.
One cat started to develop the wings during the period of hot weather in Sichuan, a large province of China where a destroying earthquake struck in this Spring. Though the wing growth appears quite fluffy and bushy, they do contain bones inside.
Some of the veterinary experts say that despite of the inner hard core, the flaps do not harm the cat's quality of life or safety. Feng, one of the cat owner says "initially there were just two bumps but suddenly the growth started and after a month those two bumps turned into two beautiful wings". Feng said the wings make her pet to look like "a cat angel". The lady said she has never seen these kind of cats before. Now feng's black and white kitty has become an international celebrity because of its strange wings.
However, the owner later grew fearful that the little tabby would either be stolen by envious admirers or it would fly away, World Entertainment News Network said. Feng also revealed to the local Huashang news that many female cats came to harass her cat in the heat and then his wings started to grow up. Several cats were photographed having this kind of furry by a local news paper photographer.
Though Feng articulates her pet's condition because of felling to a love life and the hot Chinese Summer but the scientists confessed that the wings had less romantic explanation and this unusual growing habits may be because of genetic defect or a hereditary skin condition. It may be a leg deformities which looks like a wing. There is nothing to be surprised in it. However, research states winged cats have been known to exist since 19th century but only a few people have actually seen them. So far there is no report of the little kitty taking the flight.
