1.First thing would be to choose a window to decorate. Windows which can be viewed from the street has to be chosen for decoration.
2.Large sill (inside) windows are optimum for decoration. Place a layer of white cloth or cotton on the window sill, this will give a look of a snow layer. White background will also enhance the rest of the decorations and attracts people when they glance at them.
3.Decorate windows with fresh wreaths. Traditional evergreens not only look good but also smell fresh and great.
4.Hang colorful hand made snowflakes from curtain rods. Decorative snowflakes make windows look simply whimsical.
5.Drape garland strings over the curtain rod and window muntins, Wire garlands with glittering Christmas ornaments like glass balls for a finishing touch.
6.Assorted decorations also look cool so decorate windows with shining bells topped with evergreen branches, berry twigs and pine cones. Wire all the elements together and give a finishing touch with a shining satin bow and hook it to the window frame.
7.Hang a string of Christmas lights around the edges of the window. This will light your decorations in the evening. By using light colored lights, your window will look lit up with shining stars.
8.Ask your kids to make Garlands with popcorn and hang garlands over the Curtain rods. Popcorn are light in weight and gives a cool snowflake effect.
9.For Curtains, tie them with bright ribbons in holiday colors or Christmas colors (red, green and white)matching your decor.
10.For window sill decorations, decorate sill with soft toys or porcelain toys and make a toy wonderland.
